Hello, could it be that the master server address for the netdome.biz server is perhaps wrong on the Q2 master servers site?
As far as i know the address is quad.netdome.biz:27900 for Q2, it has ca. 50 servers in its list.

Exhale runs a Quakeworld (masterserver.exhale.de:27000) and a Quake3 (masterserver.exhale.de:27950) master too.

Gameaholic.com has master servers up too, data is there in text files. Addresses here:

http://www.gameaholic.com/servers/qspy-quake

http://www.gameaholic.com/servers/qspy-quakeworld

http://www.gameaholic.com/servers/qspy-quake2

http://www.gameaholic.com/servers/qspy-quake3

Hi
Trawling through many websites reveals quite a few Q2 Master Servers but many of these are now offline. I was even advised that the idsoftware master server was no longer working. Though this is not a definitive list these following servers were live reporting active Quake 2 servers today Tuesday 16th January 2007:

satan.idsoftware.com:27900 410 servers
master.planetgloom.com:27900 6 servers
master.quadaver.org:27900 84 servers
masterserver.exhale.de:27900 61 servers
quad.netdome.biz:27900 88 servers

If you know of any more active Quake 2 Master Servers please can you post them here so I can add them to my setmaster line in my server.cfg
Thanks
mars

No, not all of the masters are up nowadays.

The original ID master is down, they seem to start it from time to time for some days, I don't know, when it was up the last time.

The master.quadaver.org and the quad.netdome.biz have the same IP, it is up.

The masterserver.exhale.de is up, I don't know, why mli's page shows it as down.

The master.planetgloom.com is replaced by R1ch's new master server. It gets its server information out of a text file.
To get the correct server list, you must use the following entry:
http://q2servers.com/?raw=1

The same (text file master) applies for the Gameaholic.com master:
http://www.gameaholic.com/servers/qspy-quake2

I personally know only two Windows game scanners, which allow you to put in own master server entries: PingTool and GameScanner.
The PingTool site is down since years, look on the internet for PingTool 2.6a, which was the last version.

The GameScanner site is up, its address is http://www.bdamage.se/
The actual version is 2.0.27.

Both programs can handle text file masters, too.

The AllSeeingEye is burried by Yahoo, it could never handle own (private) master server entries.

Perhaps you know it already, if you write the master server addresses into your server.cfg, you must use the following syntax:

setmaster master1:port master2:port master3:port master4:port master5:port master6:port master7:port master8:port

For example:

setmaster satan.idsoftware.com:27900 masterserver.exhale.de:27900 master.quadaver.org:27900

The maximum number of entries are eight master servers (they must be in one line). As far as I know, you can not put text file masters into your server.cfg.
